Cyber Seekers Election Time
One election finishes and another one starts. Its election time for the
Campbelltown Senior Cyber Seekers Inc. Committee as our Annual General
Meeting is upon us for 2016. Below I have given a brief overview of
Campbelltown Senior Cyber Seekers Inc., and the makeup of the
Management Committee and why it exists.
Campbelltown Senior Cyber Seekers Inc. is an Incorporated Association
registered with the NSW Department of Fair Trading under the
Incorporated Associations Act 2009. The management committee is
responsible for managing the affairs of the association in accordance with
its constitution and the law.
The constitution of our incorporated association (copies
available at the club) sets out the composition and
function of the committee and the provisions regarding
the legal obligations the club has in its conduct and
reporting.
The President chairs the Management Committee and also contributes to the discussions in the monthly
Committee meetings. If the President cannot attend a meeting for any given reason, then another member
of the management committee can be nominated as chair. The President is the public face of the club for
the conduct of business.
The Secretary is primarily responsible for managing the records of the Club. The Secretary also:
takes and keeps minutes of the club´s meetings
keeps the register of members
coordinate any correspondence or reports to be presented at meetings
receive all club correspondence and bringing urgent matters to the attention of the President or
Treasurer if necessary
The Treasurer is responsible for the financial management of the club. The Treasurer also:
manages the petty cash balance and ensures the receipting for it is kept up-to-date
keeps all documentation for payments made including receipts, invoices and statements
keep and maintain the club’s deposit and cheque books
ensure that all payments are approved or ratified by the management committee and that they are
recorded in the minutes
There are 4 other Committee Members who attend the monthly meetings to contribute to the discussions
and use their experience and observations to help the club grow and advance to provide value to the
members. Some of these members take on responsibilities that suit their experience and skills.
The Club invites all its members to participate in the growth and development of the club by nominating
for a position on the Committee to guide and direct the Club into the coming year. Forms are on Page 2.
