Thank You IRT Foundation
Our thanks to the IRT Foundation for their Community Grant to the Campbelltown Senior Cyber Seekers to
assist us to purchase the facilities we need for teaching seniors technologies that help their everyday life
and communication abilities with their families and friends wherever they are.
With the funds allocated by IRT Foundation we have been
able to purchase new large screen monitors to assist those
with some sight impairment in following along with lessons
at the Club premises.
The monitors can also be used for our members to plug
their laptop into to improve comprehension of the lessons
when using their own laptops at the club.
All the smaller monitors have now been replaced and the
new large screen monitors have been installed in their
place.
The funds allocated by IRT Foundation have also allowed
us to purchase a new Wi Fi Router system for use by our
members whilst at the club.
Our previous system was good for its time but as more
members bring their own laptops, tablets and phones in for
their lessons the number of devices it had to handle at the
same time meant members were being dropped off the net
during their lesson which prove frustrating for us all.
The new system is designed to handle large amounts of data
connections and balance them so they are all able to have
constant connection to the net without dropouts. As those
of you who have been using the new Wi Fi system will attest
it is fast, reliable and looks like a spaceship that has landed
on top of our server rack.
Our sincere thanks and appreciation to the IRT Foundation for funding this valuable upgrade.
